For the second year running in association with Newcastle Community Group, Peamount has been illuminated with festive Christmas lights.
It strives to be a celebration for Services Users, Visitors and Staff, and gives us an opportunity to join with the local community to mark the start of the festive season. It was great to see so many people get into the spirit of Christmas and raise their voices in song….. Unfortunately the weather was not so kind to us on the day!
The Christmas Lights were officially turned on by Mr Eddie Clouder, a service user from Pine Lodge. Also in attendance for the occasion was Cllr Francis Timmons who, as an Independent Councillor and former staff member represents the Clondalkin and Newcastle areas. His thoughts for the day were on the importance of Social Inclusion in our daily lives and how inclusion treasures diversity and builds communities.
The choir who had been rehearsing for a number of weeks prior to the event added enormously to the atmosphere on the evening. They were ably assisted by service users and staff who also participated in the event.
A big thank you to the choir and everyone who brought cakes, pies, goodies and festive cheer to the evening!
The organising committee are already looking forward to a bigger, brighter more colourful event for 2015!
