The 2019 Peamount Patient Experience in rehabilitation survey goes live on 1st May
April 11, 2019The Peamount Patient Experience Survey is a survey asking people for feedback about their stay in the rehabilitation units in Peamount The survey is a part a research project and is adapted from the National Patient Experience Survey organised by the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA), the Health Service Executive (HSE) and the Department of Health. All patients aged 16 and over discharged each May, who spend 24 hours or more in a public acute hospital and have a postal address in the Republic of Ireland are asked to complete the survey. It will help improve the quality and safety of healthcare services provided to patients in Peamount. The survey tries to understand how patients interact with the healthcare system and how they experience this process. The results to highlight what we are doing well and to develop quality improvement plans, which will outline how patients’ priorities will be addressed in the future. Benefits for patients • Patients can have an input on improvements to the quality of care they receive in hospital. • Healthcare professionals will be able to deliver improved care that meet patients’ expectations. • In other countries which conduct patient experience surveys, positive patient experience has been linked to improved clinical outcomes and a better relationship between patients and healthcare professionals. What questions are asked The survey asks participants about their admission to hospital, the ward environment, care and treatment, interaction with staff and discharge from hospital. Are answers to the questions treated confidentially? Yes, all responses provided in the Peamount Patient Experience Survey are anonymised to ensure that no individuals can be identified. The survey starts in May 2019. For further information contact Susan Curtis 01 6010359 Read more →
