Outpatient Services

The Outpatients Respiratory Department (OPD) runs consultant led specialised clinics in asthma, allergy, sleep and non-invasive ventilation (NIV) clinic, and general respiratory, along with nurse led clinics for Immunotherapy, Asthma and Reslizumab. There are dedicated physiotherapy led outpatient services for oxygen assessment and review, general respiratory review for symptom management and pulmonary rehabilitation programme. Referrals for the outpatients department services are received from general practitioners.

Physiotherapy

The physiotherapy department runs outpatient respiratory clinics and pulmonary rehabilitation. These physiotherapy outpatient services support people with chronic lung conditions in managing their symptoms and improving their function and physical activity.

Radiology

The radiology department at Peamount Healthcare provides a general X-ray service predominantly chest examination for both inpatients/service users and ambulatory care services. Tallaght University Hospital supports this service with the reporting of examinations taken at Peamount Healthcare.

Neurorehabilitation

There is a consultant-led ambulatory Neurorehab clinic weekly. This service is predominantly for previous inpatients of the neuro rehab Level 2 Specialist service at Peamount healthcare and complex assessments for inpatients within DMHG.

Following a period as Director of Nursing and Deputy CEO in the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, her most recent post has been Deputy Chief Nursing Officer in the Department of Health. Tanya has also worked in St Vincent’s University Hospital and the Office of the Director General in the Health Service Executive. Tanya qualified as a nurse, completing a post graduate BNS, Diplomas in Oncology , Quality and Leadership and has an MSc in Healthcare Management. She is a Fellow of the Faculty of Nursing of the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland. Tanya is committed to ensuring the delivery of high-quality person centered health care and looks to build strong relationships with all stakeholders to deliver innovative and sustainable service improvement.

Catherine Slattery

Director of Rehabilitation Services

Catherine has extensive experience of working in the health and social care sector. She qualified as both a general and psychiatric nurse and worked in the NHS and Ireland in various nursing roles. In the last 14 years she has held a number of senior health and social care positions in the voluntary and community sector. She holds a BA in Psychology, MBA in Health Services Management, post graduate qualification in Risk Management and a black belt in Lean Healthcare. In recent years Catherine’s special interests are in the areas of Rehabilitation and Disability.

Elizabeth McGrattan

Director of Nursing and Social Care

Elizabeth has 15 years nursing experience in both the acute, social care, private and community sector. She qualified in general nursing and has worked in various roles including acute respiratory care, disability services and community care.

Elizabeth joined Peamount Healthcare in 2019 as Clinical Nurse Manager in Practice Development and more recently as Quality and Continuous Improvement Manager. Elizabeth was appointed to the role of Director of Nursing and Social Care in April 2023.

Elizabeth holds a BScN in General Nursing from Trinity College Dublin, a Post Graduate Diploma in Adult Respiratory Care from the University of Limerick and is currently undertaking a Post Graduate Diploma in Quality and Safety in Healthcare Management with the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland.

Elizabeth has a special interest in quality and safety and working closely with the nursing and social care teams to ensure positive experiences for all who access services in Peamount Healthcare.
