Occupational Therapy Assistant (Fixed Term Contract)

Full Time, Fixed Term Contract until 30 th Sept 2020
(39 Hours per Week)

The successful candidate will be expected to meet the following criteria:
Essential:

  • Leaving certificate standard of education
  • Hold a FETAC Level 5 qualification in relevant discipline OR Relevant qualification in the field of social care
  • Minimum 2 years experience working in a health setting with older adults and/or people with disabilities
  • Have the personal competence and capacity (including a high standard of suitability) to properly discharge the duties of the role
  • Knowledge of the role of Occupational Therapy
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal), interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Excellent organisational/time management skills
  • Administrative and IT skills
  • Current and clean driving licence
  • Experience in delivering group based interventions

Desirable:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Staff Nurse General & ID

Intellectual Disability services and Registered General Nurses for our campus in Peamount. From
interviews a panel of nurses will be also put in place for future vacancies.

  • Be registered in RNID /or the General Division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland).

  • At least 12 months experience post registration

Desirable:

  • Post Graduate qualification in any of the above areas

The successful candidate will be expected to meet the following criteria:
Essential:

  • Nursing RNID/RGN of the Register of Nurses kept by An Bord Altranais.
  • Be a Registered Nursing Tutor.
  • Have five years post registration experience in Healthcare and/or Social Care.
  • Postgraduate Qualification at Masters level in any of the specialties: Nursing Education, Aging in Intellectual Disability, Gerontology, Rehabilitation.
  • Having a working knowledge of HIQA Standards
  • Have demonstrated the ability to lead and report on and effect change in nursing practice.

Desirable:

  • Experience at managerial level within a clinical setting

  • Have 7 years post registration intellectual disability and/or general nursing experience and 5 years nursing management experience.
  • Have successfully completed a post registration programme of study.
