SENIOR SPEECH & LANGUAGE THERAPIST

Fixed Term Full-Time Position (37 hours)
A panel may be formed to fill future vacancies

The successful candidate will be expected to meet the following criteria:
Essential:

  • Registered as a Speech and Language Therapist by the Speech and Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU
  • Three years relevant post qualification experience.
  • Competent in working with dysphagia.
  • Experience of age-related caseloads.
  • Experience of adult acquired neuro-disability caseloads.
  • Dysphagia qualification and relevant experience.
  • Ability to work both independently, on own initiative, and within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ability to identify and implement service developments and improvements.
  • Demonstrate initiative, flexibility, excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience supervising Staff Grade and/or student SLTs.

Desirable:

  • VFSS qualification or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge/experience of role of SLT in respiratory disease.
  • Experience working with adults with intellectual disability

Candidate Advanced Nurse Practitioner, (CANP) (Respiratory)

1.0 WTE Permanent Full-Time Position
The successful candidate will report professionally to the Director of Nursing and will operationally
report to the Assistant Director of Nursing. The successful candidate will be clinically accountable to
supervise Consultant/Clinical Lead/GP and/or Registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner and be
expected to meet below Criteria:

The successful candidate will be expected to meet the following criteria:
Essential:

  • Be a registered nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann) or entitled to be so registered. And
  • Be registered in the division(s) of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann) Register for which the application is being made or entitled to be so registered. Or
  • In recognition of services that span several patient/client groups and/or division(s) of the register, provide evidence of validated competences relevant to the context of practice
  • Have a broad base of clinical experience relevant to the advanced field of respiratory practice and sleep disorder conditions.
  • Be a registered nurse prescriber or agree to undertake, within an agreed timeframe as specified by the Director of Nursing, the Nurse Prescribing of Medicinal Products Certificate.
  • Have undertaken or agree to undertake, within an agreed timeframe as specified by the Director of Nursing, the Nurse referring of Ionising Radiation Certificate.

Desirable:

  • A minimum of five years post graduate experience in respiratory care, three of which is held at CNS level
  • Experience in community setting is desirable

Senior Physiotherapist 1.0 WTE

Fixed Term Full-Time Position
A panel may be formed to fill possible future vacancies

The successful candidate will be expected to meet the following criteria:
Essential:

  • Statutory Registration with CORU
  • Have a minimum of o 3 full time (or equivalent) years post qualification experience o of which 2 full time (or equivalent) years must be in neurology and/or rehabilitation (including age-related and/or orthopaedic)
  • Experience in the supervision of junior physiotherapists and students
  • Recent CPD in neurology/rehabilitation or other relevant clinical areas
  • Experience in carrying out clinical audit and quality improvement projects
  • Proven ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team
  • Proven ability and commitment to work collaboratively with patients and carers in a patient centered framework
  • A flexible approach to carrying out the duties of the post
  • Excellent resilience, initiative and motivation
  • Well-developed problem analysis and problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills
  • And Have the clinical and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role

Desirable:

  • Post graduate qualifications in neurology or rehabilitation physiotherapy or other relevant clinical areas
  • Experience in spinal cord treatment
  • Experience in management of respiratory conditions including tracheostomy management
