Staff Nurse – Intellectual Disability Service

Peamount Healthcare are currently seeking a Permanent Staff Nurse - Intellectual Disability Service on a Full-time/Part-time Basis.

The successful candidate will be expected to meet the following criteria:
Essential:

  • Be registered in the Intellectual Disability Nurse Division of the live Register of Nurses kept by An Bord Altranais or be entitled to be so registered and
  • Have the clinical and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
  • Note: Post holders must maintain annual registration with An Bord Altranais
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to apply knowledge (assessment)
  • Ability to understand needs
  • Ability to build interpersonal relationships (communication)
  • Ability to lead a team

Other requirements specific to the post:

  • Knowledge of Irish Healthcare
  • Knowledge of HIQA/Safer better healthcare standards
  • Strong awareness of Safeguarding Vulnerable Persons at risk of Abuse
  • Strong understanding of the Assisted Decision Making (Capacity) Act, with the knowledge to exercise this in care

Peamount Healthcare are currently seeking a both Healthcare and Care Assistants for permanent, part time and relief positions.

The successful candidate will be expected to meet the following criteria:
Essential:

  • Be registered in RNID /or the General Division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland).
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • At least 12 months experience post registration
  • Must have a valid visa for full time permanent work – no restrictions.
  • Must be available to workdays, nights and weekends.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Irish Healthcare
  • Knowledge of HIQA/Safer better healthcare standards
  • Previous experience of working with Neuro patients
  • Skills, Competencies and Knowledge

The successful candidate will be expected to meet the following criteria:
Essential:

  • Have been educated to Leaving Certificate Standard.

  • Have sound knowledge of Excel, Word for Windows and other related applications, an aptitude for computing is essential.

Desirable:
