Staff Nurse (General & ID)

Peamount Healthcare is currently recruiting for RGN & RNID Nurses for our Intellectual Disability services and across the Peamount campus.

The successful candidate will be expected to meet the following criteria:
Essential:

  • For General – Be registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland).
  • For Intellectual Disability Services – RNID qualified and  registered by Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland).
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • At least 12 months experience post registration

Desirable:

  • Post Graduate qualification in any of the above areas
  • Knowledge of the Irish Healthcare
  • Knowledge of HIQA/Safer better healthcare standards

Clinical Nurse Specialist (Behaviour Support )

The successful candidate will be expected to meet the following criteria:
Essential:

  • Be registered as an RNID/RGN/RPNby Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland) or be entitled to be so registered.
  • Have at least 5 years post registration experience in the division of the register in which the applicant is currently practising
  • Have a minimum of 2 years experience in the specialist area of working with people who display Challenging Behaviour.
  • Have the ability to practice safely and effectively fulfilling his/her professional responsibility within his / her scope of practice.
  • Must demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development.
  • From the 1 st September 2010, must have a Level 8 (or higher) post registration Quality & Qualifications Ireland major academic award relevant to the specialist area of Behaviour Support, prior to application*.

Clinical Nurse Manager 3 Intellectual Disability

The successful candidate will be expected to meet the following criteria:
Essential:

  • Candidates must be registered in the Relevant Division of the Register of Nurses kept by The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland or be entitled to be so registered ie RNID/RGN
  • Have at least 5 years post registration experience of which 2 must be in a management supervisory role.
  • Post Graduate Qualification in Gerontology or Aging in Intellectual Disability or commitment to study same.
  • A qualification in Management
  • Evidence of consistent updating of clinical skills and knowledge

Desirable:

  • Competent and confident IT skills – Word, Excel, Power Point and e-mail
  • Demonstrable Coaching & Development skills within clinical practice

Speech & Language Therapy Assistant

The successful candidate will be expected to meet the following criteria:
Essential:

  • Fetac level 5 qualification in relevant discipline or relevant qualification in the field of Health and Social Care
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working in a healthcare setting with older adults and/or people with disabilities
  • Candidates must have the personal competence and capacity to properly discharge the duties of the role

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of the role of Speech and Language Therapy
  • Experience in group therapy interventions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Commitment to completing further training as necessary relevant to the role
